The hardware and software complex "FMC operator's version"

Inline Telecom Solutions has developed and implemented solution to render FMC services in Samara and Nizhny Novgorod divisions of MTS. The project enables MTS not only to expand their scope of services but also to enter a new market by launching totally new services for their corporate clients.

Within the framework of the project Inline Telecom Solutions experts developed the hardware and software complex "FMC operator's version" which is to be technical solution based on open standards IPCC Softswitch and JAIN SLEE Application Server.

This new solution will encourage MTS to render FMC services combining fixed and mobile phones of corporate clients into entire network. This option will give subscribers a golden opportunity to use benefits of both fixed and mobile networks. In addition, new subscriber-friendly functions will be available to use. The above mentioned FMC advantages will optimize office (organization) operations.

The corporate subscribers of MTS are now able to explore the following opportunities of FMC:

• dialing up extension number from a subscribers mobile phone to connect to fixed corporate network
• dialing up extension number from a corporate fixed phones to connect to mobile phones of employees within the company
• handling incoming calls depending on time of day and a day of week as well as setting up the option to receive forwarded or concurrent calls.

Generally, the project included such efforts accomplished by Inline Telecom Solutions as: delivery and installation of hardware and software complex, integration and technical support of the solution. The "FMC operator's version" consists of the following modules:

• Operational Maintenance Center module which is designed to maintain hardware and software complex operations
• Module of FMC services availability
• Module of administration of FMC services subscriber settings
• Module of statistics data collection and processing

The essential part of the complex infrastructure deployment was fulfilled by Software Solution Division to provide fixed and mobile convergence in MTS, namely the following modules were designed:

Subscriber settings administration module is a graphical web-interface to manage corporate subscribers' settings of FMC services.
Reports generation module provides import of data on FMC service from CDR, which are stored in Oracle database.
Service controlling module enables administrators to manage subscriber settings administration module, report generation module and to operate the equipment by different unit managers.
Module of FMC services availability is designed to realize FMC service business logic for MTS. The module interconnects with GPM database and also imports CDR packets into Oracle database.

Also, the Software Solutions Division‘s experience covered the following scope of functions:

• to develop architectures for such modules as subscriber settings administration module, operational maintenance center module, report generation module and Data Source Adapter.
• to develop modes and protocols of interconnection with the OCFS software of JnetX.
• to develop design and engineering of users and administrators interfaces.
• to install and configure Oracle database for OCFS software of JnetX.
• to install and configure Oracle Enterprise Manager to administrate and monitor Oracle equipment.

"These days Russian FMC services market falls behind European and American markets. One of the reasons could be, for example, a lack of regulatory base as well as poor interest of mobile operators to this segment, which haven't perceived yet all the benefits and advantages of FMC services. At present, a few large Russian telecom operators are rendering the FMC services on the market and their FMC services are focused only on corporate clients segment. It's considered to be insignificant part of all possible FMC services one could render. But the basis for further development and formation of Russian FMC service market have already founded. I am talking about receiving licenses by mobile operators to render services via fixed lines as well as investing their money into construction and development of fixed networks. Also, entering new market will enable mobile operators to increase their revenues due to new services they can roll out.
