OSS Storemaster

System description

Failure alarms and graphic reports

Storemaster has functions of graphic alarming about failures of monitored resources. Catalog nodes, which correspond to failing resources, are highlighted with red color.

The system automatically updates failure diagram, an example of which is given in the next picture.

Failure alarms and graphic reports

The diagram shows the number of functioning nodes, failing nodes and nodes, for which there are no drivers assigned.

History information about the number of failing and functioning nodes is displayed on hourly and daily graphs, which are updated automatically. Below is the example of a daily graph.

Failure alarms and graphic reports

The system keeps the event log, in which drivers record information about incorrect parameters of object operation. Continuous checking of the log for new records helps to timely detect failures and prevent faults.

Drivers make records according to results of node properties check. Personnel can set regular expressions to check any properties.

Graphic reports display values of resource functioning indexes in the form of graphs. Graphs can be created for different time ranges and smoothed by the moving-average method. Graphs are created on the basis of pre-made arrays of history data.

Values in arrays of history can have any type of data: date, time line. However in the current version of the system, graphs are made on the basis of values, transformed into the numeric format. In other words, the system can make a graph, for example, based on a series of string values, if these values are numbers, recorded as text. If some value cannot be transformed into numeric format, the system will leave a blank value in the corresponding place of the graph.

The next picture shows an example of graphs.
