Access management

Automatic management of service availability implies changing of "Service" object statuses depending on personal account balance, as well as on commands, sent to network appliances for disabling/enabling of access.

"Service" objects statuses

"Service" object statuses show, whether corresponding telecommunication services are available or blocked. Statuses affect authorization – on detection of blocked status, authorization is denied.

Change of statuses is made automatically or manually. If a status is set manually, it cannot be changed automatically until operator sets the system to automatic control mode. Below is the list of statuses for "Service" objects.

EnabledAccess is enabled, the service is provided.
BlockedAccess blocked.
Disconnected for nonpaymentAccess is blocked for nonpayment. This special status can be automatically set for services, paid in the open-end credit mode.

Service statuses are informative characteristics and cannot directly influence network appliances, and changing of statuses does not necessarily cause immediate physical blocking of access. Change of logic statuses and sending of control commands to network appliances to block/enable access is performed by different subsystems.

Access management

Physical blocking of access

Closing of Dial-Up and VoIP sessions is done immediately after setting of blocking logic service statuses. For this purpose control commands to disconnect customers are sent to the access server. Commands are sent in the following cases:

  • in case of multi-login, when new connections of customers lead to early exhaust of funds from personal accounts;
  • in case of Dial-Up traffic cost calculation, as the result of which funds may run out before the expected time of funds exhaust;
  • in case of withdrawal of funds from personal accounts during sessions.

Billmaster allows to count time, spent for actual disconnection of customers from an access server. In this case disconnection will be initiated earlier than the calculated moment of funds exhaust.
