Tariffication zones

Traffic cost can depend on its direction, i.e. where the information was sent or from where it came. The same applies to telephone calls. Traffic directions are represented by objects "Traffic-zone", and directions of phone calls – by objects "Telephone zone".

Traffic-zones

By processing CDR-packages, Billmaster defines traffic zones, where data were send to or where they came from. Traffic relation conditions are specified in traffic zone settings.

The following CDR-packages parameters can be examined:

  • direction – incoming or outgoing traffic;
  • source and target subnets addresses;
  • IP-addresses of source and target;
  • MAC-addresses and port numbers of source and target;
  • types of network protocols;
  • numbers of autonomous systems;
  • combinations of these parameters.
Telephone zones

Telephone zones are used for VoIP and for fixed telephony.

Prefixes of phone numbers (area and country codes) are set in telephone zones. With the help of telephone zones outgoing telephone connections are divided according to directions with different call costs. One telephone zone can get several codes, which correspond to call directions with the same cost.

Groups of zones

There are exist groups of traffic zones and groups of telephone zones. A group may consist of any number of zones, and one zone can be included into several groups. References in tariff plans are given to these very zone groups, and for each zone there is given traffic cost and call cost.
